Verdict
The A3000 LiDAR Pro is the first robot mower that truly finishes the job. Stripes, borders, and edges, all without a human cleanup pass. On lawns within its slope limits, it's the best complete package money buys right now.
Pros and cons
What we like

- Best-in-class obstacle detection in our testing
What to know
- Not AWD, so hilly properties should look at the LUBA 3
- Trimmer head is a consumable that needs periodic replacement
- Big footprint needs a generous docking area
Full review
The original Goat A3000 was already the benchmark for LiDAR navigation, and this year's LiDAR Pro revision adds the feature everyone asked for: TruEdge, an integrated trimmer that finishes borders as it mows the perimeter. The result is the closest any robot has come to making the string trimmer redundant.
Navigation is the other half of the story. Two LiDAR units, one scanning the horizon and one watching the ground plane, build a persistent 3D map that ignores tree cover, building shadows, and satellite weather entirely. Over three-quarters of an acre it maintains lane discipline that RTK machines only manage in open sky. What it can't do is climb. Fifty percent is the honest slope ceiling, and there's no AWD option. For flat-to-rolling premium properties, look no further.
Who it's for: Owners who want the lawn finished, edges included, with zero manual follow-up.
