Verdict

The LUBA mini 2 AWD is the machine for the yard your landscaper complains about. Slopes, terraces, shade, tight gates. It shrugs at all of it, at a price well under the full-size LUBA 3.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • 80% slope handling with AWD and independent suspension
  • DropMow descends ledges and terraces safely
  • Tri-sensor stack navigates shade, night, and rain
  • Cutting height adjusts from 2.2 to 4.0 inches in the app

What to know

  • Overkill for flat lawns, where you'd be paying for the drivetrain
  • Longer charge cycles than the class average
  • App depth comes with a learning curve

Full review

Mammotion's LUBA line built its name hauling itself up 80% grades, and the mini 2 AWD packages that capability for ordinary lot sizes. Four driven wheels with independent suspension keep the deck level and the cut even across ground that visibly rocks other mowers, and DropMow lets it work terraced landscaping that is normally a hard no-go.

This year's revision upgraded perception to a 360° LiDAR plus dual AI cameras, so it runs confidently at night and in weather that grounds camera-only rivals. On a flat rectangular lawn, candidly, you'd be buying traction you never use. The Navimow i215 covers the same area for $800 less. But for the steep, complicated properties this was built for, it's the best machine under $2,500 in existence.

Who it's for: Steep or terraced lawns to 0.37 acre that need LUBA traction without LUBA bulk.
